Something is Blooming
It's a balmy 51 degrees today and we have giant crocus in bloom and another group getting ready to bloom. I'll take it!

It's Spring!
We've had amazing weather over the past 3 days, with temps reaching into the 70s on Friday. Of course I was at our other house in New Haven, where it's even warmer. The gardens are gearing up down there, but the only thing in flower was a lone dwarf iris. The hyacinth and daffodils were gearing up to flower though.
Today I woke up here at home to find my entire patch of yellow crocus in flower! I wasn't able to get a photo, but I will take some tomorrow. The snow has melted off most of the front gardens and I spy daffodils, hyacinth, tulips, muscari and a bunch of other stuff poking up. I spent about an hour clearing off wet leaves and soaking up the sunshine and I'm so excited.
It's going to be a great year for the gardens and I was so happy to get to do a little work on the first day of spring!
